Mini Wheat Futures Contract

This Wheat futures contract 1/5 the size of the Soft Red Winter (SRW) type Wheat futures contract. The crops are sowed around early October and are harvested between May and July following a period of winter dormancy. Around two-thirds of all wheat is used for human consumption, with the remainder designated for livestock feed and industrial use. Individuals traders, farmers, investors and commercial firms are among those around the world using this contract to manage risk, speculate in the grain markets and diversify portfolios.
