Wheat Futures Contract
This Wheat futures contract is the Soft Red Winter (SRW) type. The crops are sowed around early October and are harvested between May and July following a period of winter dormancy. Around two-thirds of all wheat is used for human consumption, with the remainder designated for livestock feed and industrial use. Individuals traders, farmers, investors and commercial firms are among those around the world using this contract to manage risk, seek rewards and/or diversify portfolios.
